Chukyo University is a comprehensive university with 10 faculties and 18 subjects, and is located in Aichi, the center of Japan. Department of History and Culture

Facing historical facts based on the findings of fieldwork, and trying to build a new regional history image
Focusing on the period of change such as the Warring States period, we develop empirical research that interprets historical materials and experience-based research by field survey (field visit). In the 1st and 2nd years, they acquire diverse perspectives from learning various reading skills, such as folklore, archeology and geography. In addition, they experience fieldwork demonstrations and learn to face historical facts. Graduation studies starting in the third year will use these survey methods to challenge the creation of regional historical images with unique discoveries.

Department of Japanese Literature

Be in touch with the “Japanese heart” beyond the next generation
In addition to the study of Japanese literature, this department is engaged in comprehensive research that is conscious of the position of "Japanese literature in world literature." In the "Introduction to Japanese Literature" and "History of Japanese Literature" in the first year, you will learn an overview of literature from ancient times to the modern times, and study works from a variety of perspectives from the second year onward. In this department, full-time teachers are assigned to each era of Japanese literary history (the ancient, middle ages, modern times), so it is possible to deeply explore the interested era. The department objectively and scientifically observes and analyzes Japanese, focusing on modern language. We will improve skills in "Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking" and acquire the ability to express their thoughts properly. Students will learn Japanese expression from a practical point of view, such as classes by advanced and academic Japanese language research using IT, active announcer, magazine editors, and professors who are active in linguistic expression. After graduation, I aim to work as a newspaper reporter, an announcer, an editor, etc., and work in all fields, including the media and the publishing industry.

Chukyo University Psychology Department is Japan's first psychology department that has established a comprehensive system in education and research psychology. We respond to students' willingness to engage in psychology in earnest under the full-fledged teaching staff and facilities.
The research field
We have professional full-time teachers in four fields of psychology respectively. In the 1st and the 2nd year, students learn the basics of experiment, application, clinical practice and development. In the third year, students begin to study and research the professional field deeply.
[Experimental psychology] An area explores the mechanisms of human perception, cognition, memory, and learning experimentally and theoretically. We will elucidate the information processing system of human mind.
[Applied psychology] An area aims to solve various problems related to human behavior in industry and society. You can learn useful psychology in various fields such as traffic psychology and industrial psychology.
[Clinical psychology] In order to treat a variety of mental illnesses, this is an area where you can study the factors such as the investigation of the factors, theories such as personality understanding, and the techniques such as psychological tests and counseling. It aims for the national qualification ""Certified Psychologist"" and ""Clinical Psychologist"".
[Development psychology] An area to study the relationship between human life and mental changes and development. It is related to human life, which greatly influences the background of the times, so a broad perspective and flexible ideas are needed.

Students learn jurisprudence mainly on the six laws (constitution, civil law, criminal law, commercial law, civil procedure law and criminal procedure law), and acquire the skills required for society by learning the actual situation on spot from practitioners. ■ Top-end research program ○ Advanced Research Lectures By returning the research results of the university that is the research institution to undergraduate education, in compared to the application of education, this curriculum will be more substantial. We stand in the field where people connect and support each other, and value the learning we experience, examine, think and practice. The target of learning is not limited to ""communities"" such as areas and families, but also to various spreads such as ""friendships"" and ""people connected via the Internet"". We study ""sociology"" that focuses on groups and ""psychology"" that focuses on individuals in a well-balanced manner, and fosters the ability to scientifically grasp and solve issues that the community has. ■Social Welfare Major
In order to protect life and enrich livelihood and life, we will analyze the welfare issues and cultivate the power to present methods and practices towards solutions while incorporating methods such as sociology, psychology and cultural anthropology . We emphasize practical training and exercises by a small number of people, cultivate teamwork skills that are essential for the execution of welfare work, and train active people to practice for problem solving. In addition, we aim for qualification acquisition of national qualification ""social worker"".
In 2017, the social worker pass rate was 59.4% ※ (national average 30.2%). In the past five years, 60 people have passed the National Examination for Social Workers. ※ 19 passers
■International Culture Major
From the perspective of cultural anthropology, we will consider new connections created by cross-cultural exchange and multi-cultural coexistence. In the “overseas short-term training (overseas field work)” in which all participants participate in the second year, they learn English and experience different cultures. In addition, we will learn the technique of ""Ethnography"" to transmit the cultural information that we surveyed and recorded to the society, and acquire advanced communication skills in the real world.
